The final event of the FCH2Rail project was held together with the RailLive! 2024 congress, which was taking place on November 26 and 27 in the city of Zaragoza, Spain.
The event included a presentation on the development of the project and a detailed overview of the main highlights, results and achievements. Over the past four years, the project has developed a bi-mode demonstrator train with hydrogen fuel cells and tested it on the Spanish and Portuguese railway networks. The demonstrator train has successfully completed the testing and demonstration phase. The testing phase covered 10,000km in H2 mode, 6,000 km in electric mode, and 37 days of dynamic testing. Approximately 2,200kg of H2 have been consumed during this testing stage.
